I DON’T KNOW were to start. This really was the best CFDA yet! I really loved it. And that I was seated in the front row didn’t make me love it less :) The award show was amazing, Diane Von Furstenberg was so relaxing and fun. Hillary Alexander is my new idol, so smart and funny. Kanye West made fun of himself but also showed the respect he has for fashion. He said that he is normally in front of all his fans, but now he was the fan, in front of all of his idols (in correct English though :)). Phoebe Philo – what can I say? I LOVE YOU! And then Lady Gaga, so amazing to actually just hear her talk, laughing, making fun of herself. She was so “normal”. I mean, of course she is, but at the same time, she was just so relaxing and easy going. I’m for sure a bigger fan of her now. And I love how she ended her speech by telling us what happened when she found out that she won the award – see below.

When I was told I won this award, Anna Wintour sent me a text message—she actually text messages(!) So she sent me a text message, and it said, “We’re so excited to tell you you won the CFDA fashion icon award”. And I actually thought it was Anna Treblin, who was one of my very close friends and (my stylist) Nicola’s assistant, who I go out and have drinks with all the time. So I have a couple Annas in my phone, so my reply was, “Yes, bitch, we did it!” So quite quickly I got a reply that said, “How lovely, and we will all be waiting to see what you will wear.” And then I thought, “Well won’t you be helping me choose what I will wear?‘ And then I said, “Oh! it’s Anna Wintour.”
