HERE IS A picture in color of my look from Wednesday night. I wore my suit jacket and double wrapped belt from my own collection, which I styled with my suede pants (love those) by Balenciaga and my old favorite shoes by HOPE.

The shape I would say is more or less perfect. I worked really hard on that and I’m very happy how it turned out!

This look I did as a suit. The pants looks great together with the jacket.

I made these double wrapped belts. Both in black and off white. The off white belt with white denim looks great!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU everyone who came and supported my collection for GUESS by Marciano last night here in New York. I had a great time chatting with everyone and drinking Sangrias! I have to say that I’m actually feeling proud when I see the full collection, all together, in a nice atmosphere. And that’s a great feeling. I also want to give a special thanks to the team from GUESS by Marciano, both from us and Europe. xxx

LAST TOUCH UP before my guest arrived last night. Check back soon again, working on a BIG blog post from last night!!

AS YOU COULD read about in my previous post about the inspiration for this collection was very much about using the history of GUESS, getting inspired by the iconic pieces and design them in to how I would wear them today, 2012. Like the bustier. Here as a cropped knitted top in a set with a skirt. This is a best friend for your body, since it really slims your figure and it’s so super cute. The skirt is high waisted, and I prefer to just show a tiny bit of the skin between the bustier and the skirt. Very sophisticated with a length right below the knees.

THE CHEVRON IS something you will find over and over again in my collection for GUESS by Marciano. I saw it at one of the Matador pictures, and then I just started to work on it. Love this blazer, the fit and the fabric is amazing. So also this sleeve less shirt with the chevron details in the front as the embossed leather pants. Unfortunately we couldn’t produce this pair. They were more or less impossible to actually wear, since the leather had to be very heavy to make the embossed detail visible. I also done a few dresses. I really love the dresses in the collection. Like these two, that also are in the “chevron-family”. Hope you like this too!

GOD MORNING! I’m so excited for tonight! Woop! I would like to share some of my own pictures from my year with GUESS. And yesterday, while looking through, this was one of the first I found. And this one made me smile! I forgot that I had it. This is from the first meeting with Paul after we decided to do this collaboration together. I was in LA for meetings. I thought I would have another two weeks, just to find inspiration. My plan was to go to Capetown, by my self. Just to really have some time to think, to make this perfect. I was so wrong… “We need the first 14 schetches in two days, before you leave LA” So, no Capetown, no two weeks of inspiration. Instead the first thing I asked for was to meet Paul. I wanted him to tell me his story, I wanted to know who I actually was gonna design for. 40 minutes later we met up in his archive. No one is more excited then Paul when he get the chance to show all the campaign images through these 30 years. He explained EVERY moment, told me EVERY story. After that meeting I didn’t have any doubt of what I wanted this collection to be about. I wanted to make a collection, inspierd of the history of GUESS, of Pauls story. Make the iconic pieces that we have seen over and over again, but in my way. How I would wear them 2012. Here are some of the pictures I took from that meeting. As you can see, it has a lot of inspiration from the matadors as from the 90s..
